Allstate Struggles to Process My GAP Claim: Two Weeks of No Progress

Allstate has ignored my GAP claim for 2 weeks.

I am posting here to see if anyone can help.

I filed a GAP claim (bought from Allstate with my auto insurance and Vehicle Replacement Protection Plan) 2 weeks ago. My car was totaled by a third party, and their insurance paid out. Since then, I have contacted customer service, claims, total loss, and the GAP department at least 15 times, spending over 12 hours on calls, chats, and emails.

Each department keeps passing me to another. The GAP department says they only handle GAP bought from a dealer, not added to the policy. Managers say they’ll look into it and then vanish.

Does anyone know how to escalate this to get my $5800 GAP coverage? Any advice would be appreciated.

We’re just getting started, and it appears that nobody is aware of how to get our policy’s GAP coverage. Have you had any luck?
