Can't get an online car insurance quote?

Hi, I need some advice. I’m looking to shop around for new car insurance quotes. I’ve been with State Farm for 2.5 years and was with Progressive before that. I switched because my premium with Progressive skyrocketed when I financed a 2018 Audi A4 in Summer 2021.

Currently, whenever I try to get an online quote, I’m immediately told I can’t be provided with one based on underwriting guidelines. I have a clean driving record, no points on my license, and my last ticket was reduced to a no seatbelt violation two years ago.

I’m a 30-year-old female with good credit and full-time employment. The only change is that I moved to a new town a few months ago, and now my car is garaged at my new apartment, which is in a gentrified area.

Do you think seeing an insurance broker in person would help? I find this situation bizarre.

Thanks…

Dude, car insurance quotes are the WORST! Been there, done that, got the denied quote email. Here’s what i’d do:

  • Hit up State Farm again. They know you already, might give you a discount for being loyal (like an old pair of comfy jeans, ya know?).
  • Try Geico, Zebra, or NerdWallet. These websites compare quotes online, basically like swiping for car insurance!
  • Broker might be good too. Think of them like your insurance wingman, finding the best deals. Might take a little longer, but worth a shot if you’re strapped for cash.

Insurance companies are losing money and are avoiding new risks. This means they’re limiting new policies. We can’t say exactly why you’re being declined, but your best option is to talk to an independent agent who can get quotes from different companies.
