Hi guys,
My 16-year-old daughter will be getting her license soon, and I am trying to get an idea of how much insurance might cost. I am looking at early 2000s small SUVs like a Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4, or Nissan Xterra, as they seem reliable.
I have a clean driving record and currently pay around $165/month for my Toyota minivan through State Farm. The insurance company said they need a VIN for an accurate quote, which I do not have yet since the vehicle will be bought with cash. Any insight on insurance costs for a young driver would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Check out Auto Owners Insurance. Even after 25 years of use (with two young drivers), they continue to be the most affordable. I recently renewed once more and noticed that some regulations were more restrictive than others. Marsh McLennan in Sarosota serves as my agency.

Geico offers complete coverage for $170–190 per month (the 17-year-old son’s premium is $170). I have looked at other insurance providers, but I grew up with Geico. To improve things, my 30-year-old pays them $50 a month for the bare minimum of coverage.

Thank you so much for the insight
Hey, try Auto Owners Insurance. We’ve been using them for 25 years and they’re still the least priced.
It is best to get the insurance under your name so that you can save up since insurance for teenagers tends to be higher due to a presumed higher risk of committing accidents. The downside is that if you register the insurance under your name, they can actually get into an accident and increase the amount of your future premiums
