Have You Ever Had to Use License Suspension Insurance?

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well. I recently found myself in a bit of a pickle and could really use some advice. A few years ago, I got my license suspended due to a series of unfortunate events (long story,). Back then, I didn’t even know that license suspension insurance was a thing.

Fast forward to now, and I’m trying to get back on the road responsibly. I stumbled upon the term “license suspension insurance” while researching my options. It sounds like it could be helpful, but I’m not entirely sure how it works or if it’s worth it. Has anyone here had to use license suspension insurance before? How does it work, and did it actually help you out? Any tips or experiences would be greatly appreciated

Have you lost your license and want to drive again? License suspension insurance can be an option, but:

  • It’s pricey due to your high-risk driver status.
  • It helps cover accidents while suspended but doesn’t get your license back.

Focus on getting your license reinstated first. Then get regular car insurance.

Be honest with your future car insurance company about the suspension.

In NY driving without insurance alone is enough to get you suspended. There is also a civil penalty for each day there was no insurance on the vehicle. That can add up very quickly.
