Insurance Change: Pros and Cons of Switching from Progressive to AAA

Sup I have a 2011 Toyota Matrix insured with Progressive, where I’m paying the basic coverage rate of $89 per month. I also have AAA for roadside assistance. I’m considering switching my insurance to AAA and increasing my coverage on some aspects of my policy.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with both Progressive and AAA.

Switching insurance providers can be a good idea if you can find better coverage or rates. Here’s what to think about when comparing Progressive and AAA:

Cost:

Get quotes from both Progressive and AAA for the same coverage.
Check for any discounts each company offers (like for good drivers or bundling policies).
Remember to factor in the cost of an AAA membership if you’re thinking of switching to their insurance.

Coverage Options:

Compare what each company covers. What’s included in their policies?
Decide if AAA’s extra coverage is worth the potentially higher cost.
Think about your needs and choose the policy that fits them best.

Customer Service:

Look into each company’s reputation for customer service.
Read online reviews and testimonials from other customers.
Consider how important good customer service is to you.

Claims Process:
Compare how each company handles claims.Find out how easy it is to file a claim and how quickly they process them.
Check customer satisfaction ratings for their claims handling.

Roadside Assistance:

If you already have AAA for roadside assistance, decide if it’s worth keeping if you switch to AAA insurance.
Some insurance companies include roadside assistance in their policies.

When it comes to service providers, AAA often offers a wider range of options than insurance programs.

Whether that and other advantages outweigh the possible extra expense of owning a AAA membership depends on the individual.
