Hey everyone! I need some advice. I’m looking to get new car insurance quotes. I’ve been with State Farm for 2.5 years after being with Progressive before that. I switched because I got a 2018 Audi A4 in Summer 2021, and my Progressive premium shot up after I got the new car.
The problem I’m facing now is that every time I try to get a quote online, I’m told I can’t get one based on their guidelines. I don’t have any points on my license, haven’t had an accident in years, and the last ticket I got, which was for not wearing a seatbelt, was two years ago.
I’m a 30-year-old female with good credit and a steady job.
The only difference is I recently moved to a new town, and my car is mostly kept at this new location. I rent an apartment in an area that’s seen some gentrification.
I’m thinking of going to see an insurance broker in person to sort this out. It just seems really strange.
Right now, the insurance business as a whole is losing money. Most businesses are restricting who can obtain insurance in an effort to avoid taking on additional risks. Your best bet will be to speak with an independent agent who can quote you with various firms (including those who don’t sell directly to the public), as we have no way of knowing exactly what is causing your declines.
Going through the same experience. Online, NO ONE is eager to sell me an insurance. 51 years old, excellent credit, NO accident history, and the last ticket I received was 23 years ago. I’m currently working to get insurance on a BMW Z4 that I rebuilt in my garage. How come these businesses aren’t selling you anything that the law requires you to have? This is really driving me insane.
