I need help comparing new auto insurance estimates. I’ve been with State Farm for 2.5 years, and before that, I was with Progressive. I switched after financing a 2018 Audi A4 because my Progressive premium increased dramatically.
Whenever I request a quote online now, I’m told that underwriting restrictions prevent me from getting one. I have no points on my license, no recent accidents, and my last citation was resolved with a seatbelt violation.
I’m 30, have excellent credit, and work full-time. The only change is that I moved to a new town a few months ago. My apartment is in a gentrified neighborhood and has a garage for my car.
Would it be beneficial to see an insurance broker in person? This situation seems strange.
It appears that you are in a unique situation in which, despite having a strong driving record, excellent credit and a secure work, you are meeting underwriting constraints when looking for new vehicle insurance rates. My neighbor solved the problem by consulting an insurance broker, who researched several insurance providers and discovered policies that were not available online. The broker assisted in navigating underwriting barriers and provided tailored advise, focusing on the value of presenting all required documents, such as current policy details, a driving record and relocation information. Factors such as their recent move and neighborhood standing may impact underwriting decisions. Exploring alternate choices, like as contacting their current insurance for lower rates or checking with local insurers, may provide additional freedom.
I have a 2018 RS5 and get the same response as you. I don’t know why the make and model of the car matters for an online quote. I prefer to choose my own coverages online rather than talking to someone on the phone.
facing the same situation exactly. On the internet, NO ONE is eager to sell me an insurance. 50 years old, excellent credit, never been in an accident, and my most recent ticket was issued 23 years ago. My garage is now filled with a rebuilt BMW Z4, which I am currently attempting to insure. These businesses are essentially compelled by law to sell you something, so how can they not? Because of this, I am going crazy.
