Clarification on Grace Period for Progressive Car Insurance

Hello everyone,

I recently encountered a situation where I might need a few extra days to make my car insurance payment. Can someone clarify what the grace period is for Progressive car insurance? Specifically, I’d like to know how many days I have after my payment due date before my coverage is affected or potentially canceled. Any insights or personal experiences with this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Progressive normally provides a grace period for vehicle insurance payments, which may vary. It is critical to confirm details directly with them. The grace period often lasts between a few days and a few of weeks after the due date. Make careful to pay on time to avoid a lapse in coverage or potential cancellation.

What does ‘grace period’ mean in this context?

Most folks misuse it about 80% of the time here.

Progressive is a nightmare! The Snapshot app for discounts is a total scam. I switched from my old insurance on 1/24, and Progressive only picked it up on 1/25, causing a day gap in coverage that they never mentioned. I discovered this after shopping for new insurance, and now I’m stuck with high rates due to the coverage lapse they created. This seems like a case for a lawsuit!
